Aug 08,  · referencing Bloodrock, LP, Album, ST I'd really like to thank Bloodrock for taking the time to make this one. It's real psychedelic and heavy in the best sense/5().

Bloodrock was an early '70s hard rock band from Fort Worth, TX, led by singer/drummer Jim Rutledge for the first LP. They charted with six albums between 19and scored a Top 40 hit with the morbid "D.O.A." from their second, gold-selling LP, Bloodrock 2.

Bloodrock made five or six long plays after this debut platter but none came close to this in pure hard rock power. Lee Pickens' lead guitar is blazing and Jim Rutledge's vocals are spot on.

This debut LP by Bloodrock is a very good mix of hard rock and psychedelia. The guitar playing is strong and while the songwriting might not be that exceptional these songs still do their job very well. The album is a solid package of heavy psych and all of the songs are more or less enjoyable.
